Without the press, it would be much harder to find reliable news. Without freedom of the press people wouldn’t be able to publicly express their opinions and thoughts. Without freedom of speech there wouldn’t be a democracy. But being able to voice your thought isn’t a given everywhere. There’s a form of censorship in many countries. Posts that the government doesn’t agree with are taken down or an article has to be checked by the government before it gets published. There’s a lot of pressure on the press.
